comments: Australia seems to have more than their share of hunks on local TV. Dieter Brummer is one of them. Dieter started acting at age 10 after taking some acting lessons. He'd been inspired by his idols of the time on Aussie TV's "Neighbours". He had a few roles in ads, but nothing substantial until he got a call from the directors of "Home and Away". They wanted him to play the local bad boy. The rest, as they say, is history. Dieter played Shane until December of 1995, when he let his contract expire. Since then he's had his hair cut short in a bid to change his image and get more serious roles. Dieter is a huge star in Australia, winning the equivalent of an Emmy recently for his work on "Home and Away". Making the jump stateside, Dieter joins the "Baywatch" gang this year.
