family: father, Fred (a GM executive); mother, Terese (a teacher); a brother and a sister
education: Millard West High School, Millard, Nebraska; currently attending Texas Christian University
hobbies: video games, travel and hand out with friends
religion: Chris is a devout Christian
trivia: played outside linebacker on his high school football team; was named Mr. Millard West 1995; other high school activities: was in Madrigals (choir) and swing choir; played Friedrich in his high school production of The Sound of Music and Albert in Bye Bye Birdie; Chris is still in touch with his American Pie co-stars, Jason Biggs and Eddie Kaye Thomas; Chris is "alarm clock crazy", he has to check at least twice to make sure it's on.

comments: Born near Chicago and raised in Nebraska, the new guy on the scene is Chris Klein. First seen in this year's Election with Reese Witherspoon and Matthew Broderick, Chris can also be found amongst the group of guys in this summer's hit American Pie. We hear Chris was discovered by Election director, Alexander Payne while he was scouting locations for the film. Chris bumped into him coming out of the weight room (he pumps iron for 2 hours every other day), was introduced and eventually got a part. We think Chris is definitely going places, with a great acting style, good looks and what seems to be a fairly level head on his shoulders for someone thrust into Hollywood. Up next: he plays a rich prep-school kid ("confident, cocky and edgy") with a macho father who spends the summer in a small town in Here on Earth, also starring Josh Hartnett and Leelee Sobieski. Look for a release nationwide on March 24th. His next role is in Say It Ain't So, opposite Heather Graham. Look for a release in late 2000.
