comments: It's always sad to have to watch another talented but troubled young actor throw it all away on questionable lifestyle choices. Chris Pettiet's career wasn't exactly taking off, but it did have its high points, and with his abilities was capable of so much more. His role of Jesse James in "The Young Riders" was well done and well received. More recently Chris appeared in the late night MTV soap "Undressed". Sadly, on April 12, 2000 Chris died of an accidental drug overdose at the age of 24. River didn't make it. Rodney Harvey didn't make it. And poor Christopher also has not made it. Drug abuse is not pretty or sexy or cool. Not when more often than not you end up dead outside some club, in some cheap motel room, or on the floor of a cheap apartment. We're very sorry to see another one go this route. Such a waste.

In honor of Chris and his family, his mother has asked that instead of flowers, a small donation be made to the following charity: The Christopher Pettiet Scholarship, c/o Center Stage L.A. , Attn: Kevin McDermott , P.O.
