But Kelly dove back into surfing with a vengeance and regained his world class title. Says Kelly:"Regaining the world title in 1994 was an important milestone for Kelly Slater the surfer, but it was even bigger for Kelly Slater the person. Some of the talk I heard last year bothered me for a while, but I think that's because I had a lot of other things going on in my life. It really fuels my competitive fire when I hear someone talking about me or I read a story in the magazine that says someone else is really ripping on the Tour... The more someone says about me, whether it's an off hand comment or whatever, the harder I'm going to try to beat that person in a contest. I take these comments as an incentive to make it that much harder in the water whenever I draw that person for a heat." Kelly, we enjoyed watching you walk your way through those scenes in "Baywatch", and we love what you do on a board. What a babe!
