comments: Already referred to by some as the world's greatest player, Michael Owen seems to have it all: Skill, speed, stamina, attitude, and after his amazing performance during the World Cup: Success too. Owen had a stunning debut season with the Mighty Reds this year, scoring 18 goals in the league, 1 in the League Cup and 4 in the UEFA cup and reaching number 3 in the Premier League along with his team. In February he was named in England's senior squad for the first time and has since become its youngest player and youngest goalscorer ever. Right now he is the talk of the footballing world after some thrilling performances in the World Cup, where he scored two goals: One against Romania and one against Argentina, a goal which is considered to be the best of the tournament. However, Michael's World Cup experience ended with that game, as his national team England were once again ousted by the dreadful penalty shoot out despite a brilliant game by Michael and his teammates. Now Michael is gearing up to a new season of Premiership football at Anfield and also getting ready to play a big part in England's hopes of qualifying for the European championships.
Michael recently signed a record-breaking £5 million contract with Liverpool, making him the highest paid teenage footballer.
