comments: Usher's hit "You Make Me Wanna..." sold more than a million copies and earned him a Grammy nod. His second single hit, "Nice & Slow" hit Number One in February. Usher points to some early exposure to such greats as Donnie Hathaway, Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder, all the stuff his mother was listening to. Usher's mom, also his manager, has a special relationship with her talented and gorgeous son. "She's always been there for me, " says Usher. "My mother did whatever it took." His big break came when he sang "End of the Road" on Star Search. From there, a record contract, tours, and Usher can be seen as Brandy's boyfriend, the high school quarterback, on "Moesha", one of the better shows of the ilk. One of his trademarks is leaving a pair of sneakers onstage after shows. He even has a diamond studded pair! Latest film: opposite Dylan McDermott and James Van Der Beek in Texas Rangers. Usher is definitely going places, stay tuned for more!
Latest News:
- Usher is set to release a new album All About Me, featuring a 'battling' duet with 'N Sync's Justin Timberlake, called "If I Want To". The album is due in stores February 13, 2001.
