comments: Newcomer John Daley may not be the chiseled hunk that seems to be the norm in 1999's new fall TV season. Instead he, along with the rest of the cast of NBC's Saturday night offering, "Freaks and Geeks", is refreshingly real and, well, normal. John plays geek Sam Weir, immature both physically and emotionally, who arrives at high school unprepared for the ordeal. John's portrayal is excellent and believable. John comes from a family of performers, often travelling as a child with his father who appeared in such touring productions as "Cats". John first appeared alongside his dad in a national touring company of "Tommy". And he also sang with Tony Bennett on "The Playground" album. John currently attends high school in his hometown outside New York City. Look for him next in the new Fall series, "The Gena Davis Show" where he plays Gena's teenage son. We hope to see more of John.
