comments: By all reports Jonathan never intended to be an actor. He was spotted in a high school production of "The Wizard of Oz" by casting director Diane Polley (mother of Sarah Polley). She cast him in Judgement of Stone and "Anne of Green Gables", where he landed the role of Gilbert Blythe, the part that made him famous. While filming he also attended McGill University, where he studied history, psychology and various subjects. Jonathan went on to make several film and television appearances in both Canada and the US. Jonathan concentrated on theater work, his first love. Currently Jonathan is featured in the film The Waiting Game, and is busy reprising his role in "Anne of Green Gables".
