comments: Cute little Danny Pintauro was part of the smash hit cast on "Who's the Boss?" opposite Alyssa Milano and Tony Danza. As a child actor Danny also appeared in such films as Cujo and The Beniker Gang. But after "Who's the Boss?" rapped in 1992, Danny seemed to disappear off the face of the earth. Actually, Dan went off to college at Stanford University, where he finally admitted to himself, after years of denial and a close call at marriage, that he was gay. Figuring no one really cared anymore, being out of the public eye for several years, Dan settled into college life, playing trumpet in the Stanford Marching Band and dating a Stanford polo player. Then came the call from the National Enquirer. They had learned he was gay and were planning an article to out him. Caught off guard, Dan called his parents and broke the news to them. Ever supportive, his parents stood behind him as he decided to let the Enquirer interview him instead. That behind him, Dan graduated from Stanford in 1998 and moved to New York City where he is active in off broadway theater. In November 1999 Dan appeared in the Charlotte Reperatory Theater production of "Gross Indecency" in Charlotte, NC. Dan was also featured in a recent issue of Teen People about gay performers. Dan's openess and willingness to support other gay youth is admirable. Says Dan: "I would encourage anybody struggling with their sexuality to go with their heart. If it's not an appropriate time, there will be one later. Never, ever try to rush into anything - do it in your own time."
