comments: With the unbelievable success of the boyband craze that has hit not only Europe and America, but the whole world, with such powerhouses as Backstreet Boys, 'N SYNC, Boyzone and 5ive, there's no shortage of management companies putting together their own pre-packaged groups. The UK's newest entry is a group of cute and talented lads called A1. Chances are if you're in the States you haven't heard or seen them yet, but due to the global exposure of the internet, now you can. A1's spiffy website is one pretty package, with cute graphics and html tricks that are a site to behold. There's even a way to hear the boy's latest sinlge online. Check them out, and watch them stand out in the growing crowd of prettyboys who can dance and sing. Click on the pics below for a larger version . . . .

• The Fall Tour starts Oct 19th in Glasgow! See the schedule below.
• Ben has been the object of a stalker of the cyber kind. The over zealous fan has been bombarding the A1 site with messages that have details about where Ben lives, that he recently had a new TV delivered, etc.
• "Take on Me" is the new UK single from A1. It was out August 28th.
• Here We Come, released in late 1999 is the debut album from the lads. The group wrote all the songs on the release except two.

B4 A1: "I became head chorister of St Margaret's Westminster Abbey which meant I got a lot of attention. I loved it! I sang for the Pope, the Queen and for royal weddings and charities. I've also been on radio, television shows like Barrymore and documentaries too - but I'd only ever listen to my bit then switch off! I recorded two classical CDs which are my pride and joy - until the a1 CD comes out!"

B4 A1: "I like sports, especially football and I used to be a coach for a small team. At school, I also did a lot of acting - always as the funny guy or the bad boy! When I went on an exchange trip to America, I started singing. I got a lead role in a local production of the musical Oklahoma which received a lot of publicity! I was even awarded the highest honour by the state of Kentucky for my achievements in performing arts!"

Paul

name: Paul Marazzi

B4 A1: "I did lots of different things before I joined a1. I modelled for Christian Dior once on the Spanish equivalent of the Clothes Show, but I've also been a representative for a food company on the Costa Blanca, I've filmed dancers and hypnotists, I've worked in a burger bar and danced in a nightclub. That was the best job, because I got paid to do something I love."

B4 A1: "I come from a very musical family, and I've been playing piano since I was two years old! At the age of 11, I joined my parents' band and we'd do all kinds of covers from the '60s until the present - I learnt what people do and what they don't like. When I was 12, we started playing on cruise ships that went everywhere! When I was 15, I performed in front of 20,000 people in Rumania. I represented England in a song festival there and I won the contest as Best Young Newcomer. It was great fun and a brilliant learning experience for me!"
