the boys: Next of Kin are brothers Kieran (13), Mark (15) and Nathan (18) who hail from Essex, London, England. Nathan plays the drums, Mark plays guitar and sings lead vocals, and Kieran is on bass. Discovered by ex-Spice Girl manager, Simon Fuller. The story goes like this: the boys were in Birmingham for a guitar competition, which had been cancelled. Not wanting to waste the trip, they explored the city and stumbled upon a guitar shop. Mark asked if he could try one of the guitars, and blew the shopkeeper away with his talent. As chance would have it, Simon Fuller was turned on to the boys by that shopkeeper, signing them shortly after. Their debut single, "24 hours from you" hit #13 on the UK charts (click the link to go hear it on their official website). At the same time the lads were touring all over the UK, opening for Boyzone on some dates. Their debut album is in the cans and is set for UK release in October. There's talk of a world tour and the US market is still to be explored (no, there's more to the UK lads than the obvious Hanson clone comparsions). Look out world, here comes Next of Kin!
